Profile: Dr. Fabian Pitter Steinmetz
Senior Toxicologist – QSAR & Computational Expert Back to peopleFabian holds a degree in Process Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Trier, Germany and a MSc in Toxicology from the Athlone Institute of Technology, Ireland. After gaining some experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, he did a PhD in the School of Pharmacy at Liverpool John Moores University focussing on in silico methodologies and their use in the toxicological assessment of cosmetic ingredients (as part of the SEURAT-1 research cluster funded by the European Commission and Cosmetics Europe). Since January 2016 Fabian supports Delphic HSE as a Toxicologist, interrupted by a research project at Merck KGaA where he improved the in silico model landscape for their drug design pipelines. In his current role he supports Delphic HSE with safety assessments, quality assurance and in particular with in silico approaches, such as quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) and read-across. Fabian is a European Registered Toxicologist (ERT). Furthermore, he is active member of the Schildower Kreis, a German expert panel for drug policy reform, the European Coalition for Just and Effective Drug Policies (ENCOD) and Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP) Germany, where he supports humane and evidence-based drug policies.
